Rules & Regulations
Music students of any nationalities are welcome.
Contestants are responsible for ensuring that the information provided in their application is accurate, complete, and meets the specific requirements of their chosen class. The organiser, Tranquillo Studio, is not responsible for verifying entry eligibility. An administrative fee of HK$100 will be charged for each amendment made after submission.
By submitting an entry, contestants are deemed to have agreed to fully comply with and adhere to these Rules and Regulations.
Contestants must record their performance on video and carefully follow the submission procedures, deadline, and video specifications as outlined in the Rules and Regulations.
Only the individual(s) who entered the competition are allowed to appear as performer(s) in the video, except in the case of a piano accompanist assisting a participant. Any entry that does now follow this rule will result in disqualification.
Entries disqualified at any time due to ineligibility or violation of the Rules and Regulations will not receive separate notification, and entry fees will not be refunded.
If contestants are found to have breached the Rules and Regulations at any point, the consequences may include:
i. disqualification;
ii. receiving comments only, without any marks, awards, or certificates.
Tranquillo Studio, as the organiser, reserves the full and final authority over all matters related to participation, results, awards, etc. All decisions made by the organiser are final and not subject to appeal.
Contestants are welcome to sign up for more than one group, but are NOT allowed to enrol in a particular group repeatedly. Contestants who breach this rule will receive comments only; they will not be awarded any marks or certificates.
If a contestant participates in more than one groups, s/he is NOT allowed to use the same work in different groups (each work is only allowed to be used in one group). Contestants who breach this rule will receive comments only; they will not be awarded any marks or certificates.
Please refer to the information here for the entry fee of each class. Once the application has been submitted, no refunds will be made under any circumstances, including if a contestant:
i. fail to submit the video for any reason;
ii. requests to withdraw; or
iii. breaches the Rules and Regulations.
A=440 is used as the standard tuning pitch.
Competition Materials
Playing from memory is not required. However, if a contestant decides to play from score, it is the responsibility of him / her to ensure that the music scores used in the video (by both the instrumentalist / singer and the piano accompanist) are original (legal hard copies or legal soft copies).
Contestants are required to perform the whole piece or whole movement in its entirety. Da capo and dal segno indications must be observed, while other repeats may be included at the contestant’s discretion to enhance musicality. In passages where there is an ossia (alternative musical line or note), contestants may choose either option.
Contestants / piano accompanists may use electronic devices in the video, but only limited to the following uses:
i. Score-reading
ii. Page turning
Participants of Category A groups (except pianists) are responsible for arranging their own piano accompanists if the chosen work has a piano part. Singers are not permitted to accompany themselves. Violating this rules will result in disqualification.
Specifications of the Video Recording I -
(Violating these rules will result in disqualification)In the video, the contestant is only allowed to perform the piece once.
In the video, the contestant must perform the correct work.
The video must be a single, continuous shot without any pauses or cuts. Contestants are not allowed to stop or pause the camera during the recording. If the work performed contains multiple movements, they must all be recorded within the same uninterrupted video.
Any re-tuning of instruments or breaks taken during the performance must be captured as part of the continuous, unedited recording.
Mixing, editing, or any form of post-production is strictly prohibited.
Special visual effects are not allowed in the video, including but not limited to filters, transitions, colour or lighting adjustments, and subtitles.
The video must be recorded live, and dubbing of any kind is strictly prohibited.
The use of earbuds or in-ear headphones as sound receivers is not permitted. Contestants who violate this rule will receive comments only and will not be eligible for marks or certificates.
Specifications of the Video Recording II -
(Contestants’ scores will be affected if they fail to follow the Rules 16-19.)The audio and video should be properly synchronised, with sound that is clear and smooth in quality.
The video resolution must be at least 720p (1280x720 pixels).
The video recording must take place indoors with a simple background, sufficient lighting, and minimal background noise. Avoid backlighting, as well as virtual or projected backgrounds.
The full video must clearly capture the contestant’s face, posture, and entire instrument (excluding piano). For piano performances, the contestant’s face in side view, both hands, the whole keyboard, and the pedals need to be captured. For vocal performances, a full-body frontal view is required.
The camera must remain completely static throughout the recording, with no movement or zooming in or out.
If a piano accompanist is part of the performance, they must be clearly visible in the video.
Only the contestant(s), piano accompanist, and page-turner should be in view.
After submitting the application, an email will be sent to acknowledge receipt, along with a copy of the submitted information. However, receiving this email does NOT indicate that Tranquillo Studio has confirmed the submission fulfils all entry requirements or complies with the competition rules. Contestants are responsible for ensuring that the following:
i. Everything in the acknowledging email is correct.
ii. The submitted video must correspond to the correct contestant and the appropriate group entered.
iii. The video is playable by the organiser during the adjudication period. if it is unavailable during that period of time, the contestant will not receive any comments, marks, or certificates. Tranquillo Studio will not notify individuals in such cases.
Submissions are due by the end of 2 August 2025, according to Tranquillo Studio’s server time (GMT +8). Please allow enough time to complete the application form and upload your video before the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted for any reason.
The adjudicators will assess the contestants’ overall performance, taking into account the following aspects:
i. technical control, and accuracy
ii. faithfulness to the score
iii. musicality, communication, interpretation, and delivery of the performance
Entry fee includes a certificate, and a trophy (if any).
The adjudicators reserve the right to withhold any award(s) should the performance does not reach the expected standard of excellence.
Marks, comments, and arrangement for certificate collection (if relevant) will be sent to contestants via email by the end of 23 August 2025. Contestants not receiving any email from Tranquillo Studio after that should contact us via WhatsApp at (852) 6770 4684 or email us at info@tranquillostudio.com.
All contestants and piano accompanists (if any) must dress in a decent manner for the competition.
Rules, regulations, awards, and the adjudication panel are subject to change without prior notice.
Should there be any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

比賽章程
歡迎任何國籍的音樂學生參賽。
參賽者有責任確保填報之資料準確、完整、屬實及符合「比賽章程」及各項目規則之要求。主辦單位 Tranquillo Studio 並不負責檢查提交之報名表是否符合參賽資格。提交報名後,每次修改將收取 100 港幣的行政費。
報名及參賽作品一經提交,即代表參賽者同意「比賽章程」,並會嚴格遵守。
參賽者須將其表演錄製為影片,並按照本比賽章程的提交程序、截止日期及影片規格將參賽影片交予 Tranquillo Studio。
影片中的表演者必須為參賽者本人 (鋼琴伴奏除外),否則將被取消參賽資格。
任何不符合參賽資格或違規者,均可被取消參賽資格而不獲另行通知,所有報名費將不獲退還。
如參賽者若違反「比賽章程」,後果包括︰
i. 被取消參賽資格;
ii. 僅獲得評語,不予評分/評級,亦不會獲頒證書。
如有爭議,包括並不只限參賽資格、比賽結果、獎項,等,Tranquillo Studio 保留一切最終決定權,不得上訴。
歡迎參賽者報名多於一個組別,但不得重複報名參加某一組別。如有違反,該參賽者/參賽隊伍將僅會收到評語,沒有評分/評級,亦不獲頒證書。
每首參賽曲目只適用於一個比賽組別 (group),不得在不同組別使用同一曲目參賽。如有遺反,該參賽者 / 參賽隊伍均只獲評語,不獲評分 / 評級,亦不獲頒證書。
各項組別之報名費請參閱此處。 報名申請一經提交,任何情況下,報名費均不予退款,包括:
i. 參賽者因任何原因未有提交比賽影片;
ii. 參賽者申請退出比賽;
iii. 參賽者違反比賽章程。
調音時,請採用 A = 440。
比賽樂曲
參賽者、鋼琴伴奏 (如有) 均無需背譜演奏。但如使用樂譜演奏,則必須確保無論參賽者及鋼琴伴奏 (如有) 所使用的樂譜為正本 (合法的實體樂譜或合法的電子版)。
參賽者必須演奏完整樂曲或樂章。如樂曲有 Da capo 或 Dal segno 記號,參賽者必須遵從。至於其他樂句的重複,則自行決定。若有 ossia (選奏),參賽者可以自行選擇。
影片中,參賽者及鋼琴伴奏者 (如有) 可使用電子產品,但僅限於以下用途:
i. 閱譜
ii. 揭譜
如 A 組參賽者所選曲目有鋼琴伴奏部份,需自行安排鋼琴伴奏者;聲樂參賽者不得不可自彈自唱。違反者將被取消資格。
影片規格 I -
(參賽者必須遵守以下指引,否則將被取消資格)
在影片中,參賽者只能演奏該曲目一次。
參賽者必須在影片中演奏正確的曲目。
影片必須是一鏡到底,途中不可暫停攝影機,也不能以多於一條影片合成。如參賽歌曲多於一個樂章,必須將它們全部錄製於同一段影片內,不可以多條影片合成。
重新調音、樂章之間的準備時間,均須攝錄在影片中。
嚴禁為影片進行混音、剪輯或任何形式的後期製作。
影片中不可加入特別視覺效果,包括且不限於濾鏡、轉場、調色、燈光調整、字幕等。
影片必須是現場錄音及錄影,嚴禁任何形式的配音。
參賽者切勿使用任何耳機作收音用途,否則將只獲評語,不獲評分和評級,亦不獲頒證書。
影片規格 II -
(參賽者必須遵守規則16至19,否則分數講受影響)
請確保影片的聲畫同步,以及音質清晰流暢。
影片解像度至少為 720p(1280x720像素)。
錄影必須在室內進行,背景簡潔,光線充足,環境寧靜,並避免背光。請勿使用虛擬背景或投影背景。
整段影片必須清楚顯示參賽者之樣貌、姿勢、動作和整件樂器 (鋼琴除外)。如果是鋼琴項目,鏡頭則必須清晰拍攝參賽者的側面、雙手、 完整的鍵盤和踏板。聲樂項目則以正面拍攝參賽者全身。
拍攝影片時,請保持鏡頭穩定,鏡頭不移動、不放大或縮小。
如演奏需要鋼琴伴奏,伴奏者則必須在整條影片中清晰可見。
影片中,只有參賽者、鋼琴伴奏者和揭譜者可以出現。
提交網上報名及影片後,參賽者將收到一封「確認電郵」。有關電郵將列出已提交的資料。 請留意,收妥該「確認電郵」並不代表 Tranquillo Studio 確認該影片符合所有參賽要求或比賽規則。參賽者有責任確保以下事項,包括:
i. 「確認電郵」的內容均正確無誤
ii. 所提交的影片必須與參賽者及其比賽項目相符
iii. 參賽者必須保證於評審期內,主辦單位 Tranquillo Studio 可播放影片。如果影片在此期間無法播放,參賽者將不獲評語、評分及證書,主辦單位 Tranquillo Studio 亦不會另作通知。
截止報名日期及時間為 2025 年8 月2 日 23:59:59 前 (GMT +8)。 為免遇上網絡擠塞和固障,請預留足夠時間填寫表格及上載影片。逾期提交報名,不論任何原因,一律不獲接納。
評判根據參賽者以下方面評分,包括:
i. 技巧、準確性
ii. 跟隨樂譜之程度
iii. 音樂感、使表演傳意的能力、演繹及整體表現
參賽費用包括證書及獎盃 (如有)
如某組別的各參賽者的演奏均未達到優秀水平,評審團保留不頒發任何獎項的權利。
參賽者將於 2025 年 8 月 23 日完結前,以電郵收到分數、評語及領取證書的安排 (如適用)。如 2025 年 8 月 23 日過後還未收到 Tranquillo Studio 的電郵,敬請參賽者透過 WhatsApp 短訊聯絡 (852) 6770 4684 或發送電子郵件至 info@tranquillostudio.com 查詢。
參賽者及鋼琴伴奏者 (如有) 演奏時,必須穿著得體。
如比賽章程、獎項和評審團有變動,恕不另行通知。
「比賽章程」以英文版本作準。
